The Nottingham was an excellent facility. It's a senior living and assisted living. The staff was wonderful and very pleasant. The place was absolutely spotless and very secure.
She likes it because she has a very nice apartment and she has friends already there. They have all kinds of recreation for you. They have a swimming pool, a library, a TV, and they take you anywhere you want to go, like to all your doctors' appointments and shopping. It fits her needs absolutely perfectly. They were all very nice but way beyond our means. We know two people who are there and very satisfied with it. We only met the lady who showed us around, but she was nice, very personable, and very helpful. The buildings were very nice and very well kept up.
It's a pleasant and just an overall beautiful, beautiful environment. It's a fairly new facility, and the security level is good there. You needed a key, and they need to buzz you in to enter. Although he needs help eating the food, it tastes fine.

He has a shattered ankle and they were only giving him ibuprofen when he was supposed to be receiving better medication for his pain. They also took his bed pan more then once and didn’t bring one back until I called them and I live across the country. They almost didn’t feed him one night when he is diabetic and they were fully aware of this. This so called care facility did anything but take care of my dad. I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone several times. And there have been several covid outbreaks.
My mom has a private room, and they’re always trying to do things with the residents like bingo, music, and bands or choirs. The CNAs take them to the activities and my mom participates in them. They do movies, books, anything they want.

Olathe, KS, USAThe grounds were also very well kept up. The Nottingham is an ideal location with many amenities nearby. It's quaint, not too big, and not too small. I just think it's in a perfect location, and that's what really caught my eye. The rooms are perfect, whether you're single or a couple.
The large majority are really bad and less than caring. Even when fully staffed, call response times are frequently 45 minutes or more. Residents are left in the common room for hours. Many are ignored as they call for help while the CNAs sit in the office on their cell phones and socialize.

She also has a beautiful view of the valley area of Syracuse. My grandmother is very picky, and the food’s been delicious. I’m assuming it’s good because she’s very particular. All of the staff I’ve met have worked there for a very long time. My understanding is there are not a lot of turnovers. They’ve all been very good about communicating with me.
